695 candidates from 49 constituencies in the country, 264 candidates for 13 seats in Maharashtra









New Delhi, Leading News Service: In the 5th phase of the Lok Sabha elections, 695 candidates from 49 constituencies of the country have entered the fray. According to the information announced by the Election Commission on Wednesday (May 8), polling will be held in 8 states/UTs in the 5th phase in the country. Whereas in Maharashtra, voting will be held on 13 Lok Sabha seats, and 264 candidates are in the fray.

3 Meroji was the last date for filing applications for the 5th phase of the Lok Sabha elections. According to the information released by the Election Commission, 1586 candidates filed applications from 49 constituencies in the country. Out of them 749 applications were accepted as valid by Election Commission after scrutiny. After some candidates withdrew their applications, the number remained at 695. There will be 20 votes for 5 phases in the country.

Maximum 512 applications filed from Maharashtra in the country for the 5th phase

Voting will be held in 13 constituencies in Maharashtra for the 5th phase of Lok Sabha elections. Maximum 512 candidates had applied for it. After scrutiny of applications and withdrawal of candidates, now 264 candidates are contesting for 13 seats in Maharashtra. After this, 466 nominations were filed for 14 Lok Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh.
