New Delhi; News Agency: A deal to purchase 26 Rafale-M fighter jets from France for the Indian Navy's fleet of warships. French government and Dassault company officials will come to India on Thursday to discuss the matter with the contract committee of the defense ministry.
Along with the operation of the Rafale-M fighter jet, training on how to attack it will also be provided by France. According to information received from the Defense Ministry, Navy officers will also participate in Thursday's meeting.
22 single seat Rafale-M and 4 double trainer seat Rafale-M aircraft will be procured from India. These aircraft will be deployed in the Indian Ocean in response to China's growing influence in the Indian Ocean. These aircraft will be based on the warship INS Vikrant.
Earlier, India had purchased 36 Rafale fighter jets from France in September 2019. 59 thousand crore rupees had to be paid for it. Rates will also be decided in Thursday's meeting.
