Food delivery platform Zomato has increased its customer charges by 25%, bringing the platform fee to Rs 5 per order. This change has been implemented in the major cities of Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Lucknow. Zomato started charging platform fees in August 2023. Initially, it was Rs 2 per order and in October, the company increased the charge to Rs 3 in most of its key markets. Zomato had on January 1 reduced the platform fee for users from Rs 3 to Rs 4. After that, customers will have to pay a charge of Rs 5 per order. (Zomato Charges)

Zomato is an Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery company. It was founded in 2008 by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. According to reports, Zomato processes 2 to 2.2 million orders per day. Swiggy, Zomato's main competitor, charges a platform fee of Rs 5 on food delivery orders.
