Zeenat Aman got a different identity in the industry with the song 'Dum Maaro Dum' from Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman's film 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna'. In this song, Zeenat was shown smoking a chillum. Usually stars just act drunk for such shoots, but Zeenat was really drunk for this song. The actress herself has revealed this. She said, 'When my mother came to know about this, she was furious.'
The actress shared the anecdote on social media
Actually, Zeenat Aman shared a photo of the song 'Dum Maaro Dum' on Instagram. In the caption of which she has told an anecdote related to this song. Zeenat wrote, 'We were shooting for 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' in Kathmandu. Dev Sahab had gathered a group of hippies from the streets for the song 'Dum Maaro Dum'. The hippies were also very excited to do this, because firstly they were getting a chance to pack chillum with hashish in Nepal. Second, they were getting free food for working in a Bollywood film. Also, they were getting money for this.'
I actually smoked a chillum to sing the song
Zeenat said, 'Dev Anand wanted to make this scene completely real. He had to show my character Janice as really drunk. The easiest way for this was to get drunk with hippies. I was a teenager at that time. For this song, I continuously took long puffs from the chillum. So, when our shoot was over, I was completely drunk. I was in no condition to go to the hotel, so some people from the team took me to a beautiful place. There I felt good and then slowly I regained consciousness.'
Mother had reprimanded the senior crew members
Zeenat further said, 'When my mother came to know about this later, she was very angry. She also scolded the senior crew members. However, I was lucky that I was saved from her anger. Well, what can I say, it was the 70s, and I was a flower child.'
Zeenat was not the first choice for the film
Let us tell you, the film 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' was released in 1971. Dev Anand himself directed this film. He also acted as the lead actor. This film proved to be the biggest hit of its time. It is said that actress Zaheeda Hussain was the first choice for this film and not Zeenat Aman. According to media reports, Zaheeda wanted to play Dev Anand's girlfriend in this film and not his sister, who was Mumtaz.
who are hippies

These people used to claim themselves to be very close to nature. However, even today there are people who follow hippie culture on some scale in different countries. From time to time these people also keep organizing their events. In which some outsiders also get a chance to stay with them.
