Sonakshi Sinha registered her marriage with her long time boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal on 23rd June. These days, the couple is seen sharing stories related to their marriage in many interviews.
Now in an interview given to Galata India, the couple again talked about their marriage. On this occasion, Zaheer told that he wanted to elope and marry Sonakshi but it could not happen.
Sonakshi has shared many wedding photos on her social media account.
'We would go abroad, get married and come back'
In this interview, Zaheer was asked if he always wanted to have a small wedding instead of a grand wedding? In response to this, Zaheer said, 'I wanted to run away with Sonakshi. I would have left the country and gone anywhere, got married and come back. But then I came to know that this kind of marriage is not considered valid in India.'
Then consensus was reached on a close ceremony
While Sonakshi said, 'So the plan of eloping got cancelled… and I always wanted to have a private wedding. Zaheer also said that it is important that our close people be present there, so we agreed on this.'

Others created a ruckus on interfaith: Sonakshi
Sonakshi-Zaheer's marriage has become a topic of much discussion due to it being interfaith. Both of them had recently given their statements regarding this.
On this, Sonakshi had said, 'During our seven years of dating, our different religions were never an issue in our discussions. We both respect each other's religion and this has never been an issue or a point of discussion for us. Whatever uproar has been created about interfaith wedding has been created by other people.'
I took advice from Salman's father: Zaheer
Zaheer said that he may have 50,000 differences with Sonakshi but they can never be on the basis of religion. Zaheer had said that he had consulted Salim Uncle (Salman Khan's father Salim Khan) on interfaith marriage.
