Will provide quality liquor at low prices: Chandrababu Naidu's 'strange' promise to voters | leader

Leader Online Desk : Along with the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has given a big assurance to the voters in the Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. Party leader and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has also testified that if he comes to power in the state, he will provide good quality liquor at low prices. He was speaking in the meeting at Kuppam.

At this time Chandrababu Naidu said that after 40 days Telugu Desam Party will form the government in the state. After this we will not only provide quality liquor but also take responsibility to reduce the prices. This time he also criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress party for going back on their 2019 election promise to ban liquor in the state.

Prices of all commodities have skyrocketed, including skyrocketing liquor prices. Our younger brothers live happily when I mention alcohol. They want to reduce the price of liquor. He also alleged that it was Jagan Mohan Reddy who increased the price of a bottle of liquor from Rs 60 to Rs 200 and pocketed Rs 100.

YSR Congress earned 24 thousand crores under the name of 'custom duty'

The YSR Congress Party government in Andhra Pradesh is reported to raise around Rs 24,000 crore through excise revenue (custom duty) in 2022-23 as against Rs 17,000 crore in 2019-20. Especially in Andhra Pradesh liquor is sold through government owned shops. Chandrababu Naidu accused the YSR Congress Party government of supplying substandard liquor and making profit of thousands of crores from inflated prices.

Pawan Kalyan will also attack YSR

Janata Sena Party (JSP) chief and actor Pawan Kalyan is an ally of the Telugu Desam Party in the NDA for the Lok Sabha elections. This time he also attacked the ruling government of Andhra Pradesh. People will get sick if they continue to consume liquor provided by YSR Congress party. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy looted Rs 40 thousand crores from the sale of liquor. He also questioned why digital payment is not accepted for purchase of liquor. Where is the money going? He also claimed that about 74 percent of the total liquor sold comes from only 16 companies.

BJP will contest on six Lok Sabha and 10 Vidhan Sabha seats. At the same time, TDP has been given 17 Lok Sabha seats and 144 Vidhan Sabha seats. The Jana Sena Party has been given two Lok Sabha seats and 21 Vidhan Sabha seats.
