Who has a chance in Delhi along with Punjab, Haryana, Himachal?

Ajay Setia (Analysis)

115 seats will be decided in the sixth and seventh phase of the Lok Sabha, out of which BJP had won 59 seats last time. 23 of these seats were from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. BJP had a clean sweep in Delhi and Haryana. It will be interesting to review what the picture tells about this time.

Haryana

It can be seen that BJP is not in a position to make a clean sweep in Haryana at this time. Therefore, BJP has changed its candidates in six seats. In Rohtak, Hisar, Sirsa and Kurukshetra seats, BJP will have to face the challenge from Congress and Aam Aadmi Party. State President of AAP in Kurukshetra Dr. Sushil Kumar Gupta wants to join hands with BJP's Naveen Jindal. Last time Naib Saini had won from here. He is currently the current Chief Minister. In Rohtak, Hisar, Sirsa too, it is not an easy fight for BJP. Kumari Sailja of Congress is considered to be a strong contender in the Sirsa constituency.

BJP's victory is considered certain in three places namely Gurugram, Karnal and Faridabad. Congress has given ticket to Raj Babbar in Gurugram. BJP's Rao Indrajit Singh's victory is therefore considered certain. Former Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar's victory in Karnal has also become easy. BJP does not see much difficulty in winning in Faridabad. However, in Sonipat and Bhiwani, the Congress has given a strong challenge to the BJP. So it seems that it has become difficult for BJP to win all the ten seats like last time.

Delhi

For the past twenty-five years, the equation has become that the party that wins the most seats in Delhi forms the government at the Centre. In 2004, the Congress won six seats and formed the government at the Centre. Later, a similar pattern was observed in the case of BJP. At this time, the challenge of the alliance of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party is facing the BJP. However, the workers of both these parties still have a feeling of mistrust towards each other. This can be beneficial for BJP. Aam Aadmi Party has contested from New Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi and South Delhi, while Congress has contested from Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi and North West Delhi. For the Aam Aadmi Party, these elections have become a battle of survival. It is seen that Arvind Kejriwal's image has received a big blow due to the alleged beating case of Swati Maliwal. Still, as a precautionary measure, BJP has given new faces on six seats. The answer to how much he benefited will be given on June 4.

Four-way fights in Punjab

Punjab

BJP never had much influence in Punjab. The BJP has been on the backfoot in the state due to the farmers' agitation and the break-up of the alliance with the Akali Dal. This time BJP is contesting all thirteen seats on its own. Two of these candidates are from Akali Dal, one candidate is from Aam Aadmi Party and four are from Congress. Three are retired bureaucrats. That means BJP has only three candidates of its own. At this time in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP and Congress are all four major parties fighting on their own. Former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and former state president of Congress Sunil Jakhar have joined BJP after joining BJP. The real fight is between Congress, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party. The Akali Dal, which won only two seats in the last election, has to fight for survival this time.

Himachal Pradesh

BJP had great success in Himachal in both the last general elections. This time once again BJP is expecting the same victory. The election in Mandi constituency here has become interesting. Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's wife and Congress candidate Pratibha Singh won in the by-election held in this constituency. This time his long-suffering Vikramaditya Singh is in the field. Popular actress Kangana Ranaut has been fielded by BJP against him.

This high profile fight has attracted the attention of the whole country. There are signs that this match is going to be tough. It is estimated that it will not be difficult for Union Minister Anurag Thakur to win from Hamirpur. BJP will also have to face the challenge of Congress in two constituencies namely Shimla and Kangra. This means that this time BJP is not in a position to win all the four seats.
