Mallika Sherawat has made a comeback in Hindi films with the recently released video of the film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala. Recently, during an interview, Mallika told that she has not received support from her family since childhood. The actress also told that there was mourning in the family as soon as she was born. Whereas the mother went into depression after the birth of her son.
In a recent interview given to Hotterfly, while talking about patriarchy and family support, Mallika Sherawat said, I had no support from anyone. Neither of mother, nor of father, nor of family.

She further said, when I was born, there was mourning in my family. My mother had gone into depression. What was his fault? There was a lot of pressure on him. Society had put so much pressure on them that we only want a boy. Imagine, my poor mother was only 17 years old at that time. Imagine how difficult it must have been to get pregnant and give birth to a child, in such a situation, instead of congratulating you, people are telling you 10 things. My grandmother used to say that if we have boys then the roots go into the ground. But my mother's land did not take root. It was a girl.
Mallika Sherawat praised Mahesh Bhatt
In the conversation, Mallika was asked that some good men must have also come in your life. On this he said, very good men have been in my life, who made me what I am today. Some people gave me wings, like Mahesh Bhatt sir. He has made a huge contribution in freeing me from patriarchy. I used to talk to him for hours during the shooting of the film Murder. Seeing his thoughts and the women in his family who were very progressive, it made a big difference to me.
