When Dimple spoke about her bonding with Rajesh Khanna: She said- 'He never praised me, he neither shared his happiness nor his sorrow with me'

Dimple Kapadia married Rajesh Khanna, who was 16 years older than her, in 1973. Their relationship was full of ups and downs.

In an interview given to a film magazine in 1987, Dimple spoke openly about her relationship with Rajesh Khanna.

Dimple had said, 'He never praised me'

In the interview, Dimple had said, 'Wherever I went, people would tell me that you are the most beautiful woman in the world. However, he (Rajesh Khanna) never said a word in my praise, it seemed as if he did not even notice me.'

Dimple further said, 'I always waited for his reaction but it never came. My whole energy was spent in doing the things he wanted, it was just like I was climbing a ladder, no matter how fast I tried to climb up, he was still many steps away from me.'

Dimple also told in the interview that Rajesh Khanna never shared any of his happiness or sorrow with her.

Dimple had said, 'I was afraid to give any kind of support to Rajesh Khanna. I was just waiting for him to need me someday so that I could be there at that time.'

There was a rift in Dimple-Rajesh Khanna's relationship

Rajesh and Dimple got married in 1973. They have two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke Khanna. After one and a half years of marriage, Dimple gave birth to a daughter, Twinkle, in December 1974. Rajesh and Dimple lived happily for some time, but then quarrels started between them.

When Dimple left Kaka's house after 11 years of marriage, she remained separated from him for 27 years but the two never divorced. When Rajesh Khanna was diagnosed with lung cancer, Dimple returned to him to take care of him. When Kaka died in 2012, Dimple was with him too.
