Bollywood actor Govinda was one of the popular stars of the 90s. His fan following was so much that especially girls used to stand in line outside his house or on film sets to get a glimpse of him.
Govinda's wife Sunita has told in an interview that some girls used to faint after seeing the actor on stage.
Govinda married Sunita in 1987.
Govinda's fan stays in the house as a maid
In the podcast Timeout with Ankit, Sunita told that once a female fan pretended to be a maid and stayed in her house for 20 days.
Sunita said, a girl stayed in our house as a maid for 20-22 days. Looking at her, I thought she was from a good family. I told my mother-in-law that the girl neither knew how to wash utensils nor clean the house. She was young too but I was having some doubts.
She used to stay awake till late at night and wait for Govinda. I was shocked to see this. I got her background checked and found out that she was the daughter of a big minister who was a fan of Govinda.
When I asked her the truth, she started crying and confessed that she was living in Govinda's house as a maid for him. Later her father came to pick her up with four cars. I have seen such a fan following for Govinda.
Govinda has not been seen in films for four years
In a career spanning 37 years, Govinda has worked in almost 170 films. His last film was released four years ago in 2019, named 'Rangeela Raja'. It was a flop. After this, Govinda did not get any film.
