If water scarcity is a frequent problem during summer, what steps have you taken to prevent water wastage? What action did you take against the tanker mafia? If you don't take action, we will ask the Delhi Police to take action against them,” the Supreme Court today (Dec 12) slammed the Kejriwal government over the dire water shortage in Delhi.
If the water is coming from Himachal Pradesh, where does the water go in Delhi? There is so much waste here, tanker mafia etc.. What steps have you taken regarding this? A bench of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Prasanna B Varale also directed the Delhi government to explain why false statements were made before this court.
Affidavit to be submitted by Delhi Govt
During today's hearing, the Delhi government's lawyers told the Supreme Court that they will submit an affidavit regarding the measures taken to address water scarcity in the city. This includes stopping and disconnecting large water wasters. The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing of the case till tomorrow (Thursday, June 13).
