Leaders Online Desk: A local Trinamool Congress leader was shot dead in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district. The police gave the information about this on Friday. His name is Animesh Roy. He was the Panchayat Pradhan of Lalbazar in Sitalkuchi. He was returning home with one of his associates when he was attacked on Thursday night. It is said that he was seriously injured and his condition is critical.
The shooters have not yet been identified. Roy was shot in the right thigh in this attack. A police officer said that Roy's colleague was also injured in the firing. Police say that the investigation is on and efforts are on to catch those behind the attack.
“We are also talking to his family. They don't talk much about it,” he added. Roy is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the district. But officials said his condition is critical.
