Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya's daughter Shriya followed the footsteps of her parents and chose the acting profession. Shriya admits that she was never brought up as a star kid. The actress started her career with the Marathi film 'Ekulti Ek'. Got a big opportunity in Hindi films in Shahrukh Khan's 'Fan'. But web series have achieved more success. The second season of Shriya's 'Taaja Khabar' has been streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar. Recently the actress had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar.

Question- What kind of challenges come in the second season after the first season?

answer- The biggest challenge lies in what can be done better than before. After 'Mirzapur' there has been a lot of discussion about 'Taaja Khabar'. We take audience feedback and try to do something better. It was not at all like that if season one became a hit then anything would be made. This time there is some action and I also got a chance to do action. Anyway, I like doing action.

Question- Your parents Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar are associated with the acting profession, hence you too must have chosen the acting profession?

answer- No, people think that if their parents are from the acting field then they will be interested in acting only. This may happen, but it was not so in my case. I was very interested in other things. I was very interested in film making and telling stories. I was doing a course in film making.

Question- Then how did you get inclined towards acting?

answer- Along with the film making course, she also started doing theatre. Performed a 10-minute play for the first time for a festival. Rehearsed for that for a month. During that time I started getting interested in acting. I started feeling that I should make a career in acting. Mom said that you have to do the same thing while roaming around. She thought she would do some other work. Papa had seen that play. At that time he was writing the story of the Marathi film 'Ekulti Ek'. He said that instead of casting anyone else in the film, why not cast Shriya only.

Question- Daddy had also directed the film. How was the experience of working under his direction for the first time?

answer- He has a lot of experience. The atmosphere at home is like a university of acting. Parents have a different status and identity. I am just trying to make a name for myself. We have to carry forward the legacy of our parents.

Question- Shahrukh's debut in Hindi cinema was with the film 'Fan'. How did you get the opportunity in this film?

answer– In those days I was giving a lot of auditions. Even in YRF, I was constantly auditioning for different roles. During that time, I auditioned for the film 'Fan'. The film's director Manish Sharma had selected Neha Singh from among 750 girls for the role.

Question- Didn't realize that if there are star kids then why give audition? Can opportunities be found just like this?

answer- No, if I had such an attitude I would not have got the job. I was not brought up with such an attitude. I never thought that opportunities could come easily. Audition is a process. When I came to know that I was doing 'fan' with Shahrukh sir. That's when I realized that the film would not be a typical hero-heroine film.

Question- When you got the offer of Mirzapur, what was your reaction regarding the content of that series?

answer- At that time the series was just beginning. A very unique world of Mirzapur was created. The characters were very well written. When we were shooting it, we didn't know that it would be such a big hit. Even after so many years, people still call her by the character of Sweety. Some characters are such that they are very close to the heart. Sweety of Mirzapur and Madhu of Latest News is one of them.
