Was a member of 'RSS'; but gave justice to all: Kolkata High Court judge on retirement. Explanation of Das









Leader Online Desk: I have been associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood. The team shaped my personality. It helped instill courage and patriotism in me; but I never used my organization for my career. Because it is against our principles. While judging, I weighed everyone in the same scales, be it Communist, BJP, Congress or Trinamool. I am not related to anyone. I am not against any political person. Everyone was equal in front of me, Kolkata High Court Judge Chittaranjan Das presented his career so far in these words. He was speaking at a farewell function organized on the occasion of retirement day.

37 years away from 'National Volunteer Union' due to my work

At this time, Chittaranjan Das said, “Today I have to tell my truth. I am very grateful to an institution, I was there from childhood to youth. I learned there to be brave, honest and considerate of others, patriotism and commitment to the work where you work. I must admit that I was and am a member of the National Volunteer Union. Because of my work, I kept a distance from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for almost 37 years.”

Justice was given to all

I have never used the National Volunteer Association for my career. Because it is against our principles. I weighed all in the same scales; Be it Communist, BJP, Congress or TMC. I am not related to anyone. I am not against any political person. He also clarified that everyone was equal before me.

'I'm ready to go back to the team'

After retirement now I want to work for National Volunteer Union. Now I am ready to go back to the team if the team calls me for any help or work, he added.

Who is Former Justice Chittaranjan Das?

Former Justice Chittaranjan Das is a native of Odisha. He started his career as a lawyer in 1986. He became a judge in 1999. As Additional District and Sessions Judge in various parts of Odisha
He saw the work. He was appointed as Registrar (Administration) of Orissa High Court. He was appointed as Additional Judge of Orissa High Court in October 2009. He was appointed as a Judge of the Calcutta High Court on 20 June 2022.
