Summons to the villagers in Bengal police attack case
The investigation officers of Bhupatinagar police station have called three villagers for questioning in connection with the attack on the NIA team. The villagers have been asked to appear before the police in the next two to three days. The NIA officials have been asked to appear before the police on April 11.
NIA approached the High Court
The NIA has moved the Calcutta High Court to quash the case filed by the Bengal Police. The NIA has filed a petition in the High Court on Tuesday seeking quashing of the FIR filed against him. The NIA has also sought protection from any action by the Bengal Police.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Bhupatinagar police station under sections 325, 34, 354, 354 (B), 427, 448, 509 of IPC.
Mamata Banerjee supported the locals
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned why the National Investigation Agency (NIA) team came to Medinipur for raids after midnight, whether the team had necessary permission to raid at odd hours. The locals who attacked the NIA team were backed.
Referring to Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, Mamata Banerjee said, “Why are they arresting people before the elections? Does BJP think they will arrest every booth agent? What powers does NIA have? All this is being done to support BJP. Mamata Banerjee also said that we are fighting against this dirty politics of BJP.
