Director and composer Vishal Bhardwaj has given his reaction regarding this film during an interview. He said- I have not yet decided what I am thinking about this film. Because I enjoyed this film and at the same time I hated this film.

On liking a Bollywood hero who considers himself above all, Vishal Bhardwaj told Firstpost – I think the film 'Animal' had everything you are saying. We also have the typical hero. It was one of the biggest hits. People are still watching such films and want to see similar films. It is surprising that such a large audience watches such films.

Taking his point further, Vishal Bhardwaj also said that there is an audience for films like 'Animal'. People are also liking films like 'Laapta Ladies' and '12th Fail'. Which are clearly not masala films. He said- Vidhu Vinod Chopra has made a very beautiful film of his life at the age of 71. He said that with an actor like Vikrant Massey you do not need any star.
