Leaders Online Desk: India's star wrestler Vinesh Phogat has secured Paris Olympics quota in women's 50 kg weight category. Vinesh achieved this feat by defeating Kazakhstan's Laura Ganikyaji in the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian Olympic Qualifiers held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Strong start from Vinesh
Vinesh defeated her Korean rival Miran Cheon in the women's 50 kg category in a match that lasted one minute and 39 seconds. The opposing player had no answer for her strong grip. In the next match, Vinesh defeated Smanang Dit of Cambodia in just 67 seconds to reach the semi-finals. In the semi-final match, she defeated Laura Ganikyaji of Kazakhstan and booked her ticket to France Olympics. (Vinesh Phogat)
Anshu Malik gets quota in Paris Olympics
Along with Vinesh Phogat, Anshu Malik has also secured a quota for India in the women's 57 kg category. Anshu defeated Uzbekistan's wrestler 10-0 in the semi-finals of the Asian Olympic qualifiers.
