In the Olympics 2024, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat won the semi-final of the previous day and made it to the final. She won the medal, however, Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified before the final. Vinesh, who is playing in the under 50kg category, has been found to be overweight by just 100 grams, after which she will not be able to play further, nor will she get silver. Many celebs including Hema Malini, Swara Bhaskar, Vicky Kaushal have reacted to this.

Talking to PTI on Vinesh Phogat's disqualification, Hema Malini said, 'This is very surprising. It also seems strange that she got disqualified because of 100 grams. How important it is to maintain your weight properly. This should teach artists, women and all of us that even just 100 grams is very important in itself. We feel very bad for her. I hope she will lose 100 grams soon.'

As soon as Swara Bhaskar got the news, she wrote on the social media platform X, 'Who believes the story of 100 grams overweight?'

Huma Qureshi said on this, 'Please tell them that something can be done. They have to let them fight.'

Actor Arjun Rampal has written, 'This cannot happen. They expelled Vinesh Phogat just because she was 150 grams overweight. This cannot be true. Say that this is not true. Say that this can change and there is still hope.'

Farhan Akhtar shared Vinesh's picture on Instagram and wrote, 'Dear Vinesh, people can only imagine how hurt you must have been. It is heart breaking for you how this quest ended. But please know that we are extremely proud of you and what you have done for sports. You will always be a champion and an inspiration to millions. Keep your head high.'
