Vibhav Kumar remanded in judicial custody in Swati Maliwal assault case









New Delhi, Leading News Service: Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant Vibhav Kumar has been remanded to four days judicial custody by Tis Hazari Court in Delhi in connection with the assault case of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Vibhav Kumar will now be produced in court on May 28.

After his arrest on May 19 in the Swati Maliwal beating case, the court had sent Vibhav Kumar to five days of police custody.

SIT formed in Swati Maliwal beating case

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi Police has been formed to probe the assault case of Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The team will be headed by Additional DCP Anjita Chipiyala. Three police inspectors are also involved in this team. The SIT will submit its investigation report to senior officials.

Police took information from Bibhav Kumar

On Monday evening, a team of Delhi Police along with Bibhav Kumar, a suspect in the case, went to the Chief Minister's residence and took information about the incident. What happened on the morning of May 13? The police revisited the scene in Bibhav's presence to find out the entire incident. Bibhav is not very cooperative in the investigation. He only answers yes or no. A senior police officer investigating the case said that during the arrest, Bibhav did not cooperate with the police interrogation even the next day. He continues to deny that he attacked Swati Maliwal. However, he has no answer as to why he ran away after the case was registered and why he formatted the mobile.

Officials investigating the case said that the police team is busy collecting every piece of evidence to strengthen the case. The police team recorded statements of several employees and other people present at the Chief Minister's residence. The Delhi Police has also said that the statements of 15 to 20 people are still to be recorded.
