Today is Varun Dhawan's 37th birthday. Varun, son of famous film director David Dhawan, had given 11 consecutive hit films in the first 6 years of his career.

He could have broken Rajesh Khanna's record of 17 consecutive hit films, but after the film 'Kalank', his career went on the back seat.

Filmmaker Karan Johar has been Varun's godfather in the industry and the Boycott NapoKids campaign started after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput also had an impact on Varun's career.

Out of the last 6 films of Varun's career, four films have been flops. Overall, Varun has worked in 17 films in his 12-year career, out of which 13 have been hits.

Meanwhile, the actor's two films 'Coolie No. 1' and 'Bawal' were released on OTT and both were flops.

Got many nominations but no big award
Varun has received 5 Filmfare nominations in his career so far. Received Best Male Debut nomination for 'Student of the Year' in 2012. Received Best Actor nomination for 'Badlapur' in 2015 and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' in 2017. Apart from this, he has also received Best Actor Critics nomination for 'October' in 2018 and 'Bhediya' in 2022. However, he never received any major award.

Apart from father David Dhawan, Varun's brother Rohit Dhawan and uncle Anil Dhawan are also associated with Bollywood. Where Rohit has been the director of films like 'Desi Boyz', 'Dishoom' and 'Shehzada'.

Anil Dhawan has been a famous actor of yesteryear. He has given hit films like 'Piya Ka Ghar', 'Chetna' and 'Andhadhun' in his career.

In personal life, Varun married his childhood friend and long time girlfriend Natasha Dalal on 24 January 2021. Varun and Natasha were classmates since childhood. Varun had told in an interview that he first felt love for Natasha while playing basketball in 12th class.

He proposed Natasha four times but every time his proposal was rejected. However, seeing Varun's true love and efforts, Natasha agreed. Both of them got married in 2021. Both are going to become parents soon.
