Singer Usha Uthup's husband Jani Chacko Uthup died in Kolkata on Monday, July 8. He was 78 years old. His last rites will be performed in Kolkata today.
According to Usha Uthup's family, Jani was watching TV at his home and during that time he felt uneasy. He was admitted to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. Doctors said that Jani Chako died due to a heart attack.
Jani Chacko Uthup was the second husband of singer Usha Uthup. He was associated with the tea plantation sector. Usha and Jani first met in Trincas in the 70s. Usha is the mother of a daughter Anjali Uthup and a son Sunny Uthup.
Usha Uthup's first marriage was with Ramu Iyer. But after five years of marriage, their relationship was not good. Although Ramu encouraged Usha for music. He used to take her to various events himself. But there was no relationship of husband and wife between them. Once when she went to Kolkata with her first husband for an event, she met Jani there.
