Leaders Online Desk: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday (20th) has postponed the prelims exam scheduled for May 26 to June 16 due to the Lok Sabha elections. UPSC conducts civil services examination in three phases every year to select Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other officers.
UPSC said, 'In view of the upcoming general election schedule, the commission has decided to postpone the prelims exam to 2024.' Admit cards of the candidates will be released online few days before the exam. After the Election Commission announced the schedule for the 18th Lok Sabha elections last Saturday, it was decided to change the date of the preliminary examination. Now the preliminary exam will be held on June 16 and the main exam will be held for five days from September 20.

Earlier, the commission had also extended the last date to apply for Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. As per the official notification, the last date to apply was extended to March 6.
