The report further said that the Anti-Cybercrime Agency clarified that the 'UGC-NET' exam was rigged. A day later, the University Grants Commission canceled the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan then revealed on Thursday that the paper had been leaked “in the dark”. The Ministry of Education has also said that the matter is being handed over to the CBI and a new examination (UGC-NET 2024) will be conducted soon.
The UGC-NET exam was conducted on Tuesday (June 18). Soon after that, the question papers were posted on social media alleging that they had been leaked. Meanwhile, the cancellation of UGC-NET within 24 hours was “not a knee-jerk reaction,” Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also said.
“Based on information received from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), prima facie it was found that there were, “question papers were being circulated on Telegram (messaging platform) papers (UGC-NET 2024) in the dark”.
