This week's BARC TRP report is out. The new show 'Jhanak' quickly made its place in the list. Now the show is competing with long running shows like 'Anupama', 'Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein' and 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'.
Let's take a look at which show was on top this week and which one was lagging behind:
1. Anupama
Serial 'Anupama' is on top in the TRP list. The audience wants Anupama and Anuj to reunite once again. Due to the popularity of this track, Rajan Shahi's show managed to remain at the first position this week also. The show has received 2.3 million viewership impressions.
2. Jhanka
The show 'Jhanak', which started about five months ago, managed to impress the audience from the very beginning. Hiba Nawab and Krishal Ahuja starrer this show is ruling the TRP charts. It is included in the top three because of the unique story of the show. The show has received 2.0 million viewership impressions.
3. Lost in someone's love
Compared to last week, this week the show 'Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein' has seen a decline in TRP. This show starring Shakti Arora and Bhavika Sharma is at the third position. The show has received 1.9 million viewership impressions.

4. What is this relationship called?
Samridhi Shukla and Rohit Purohit starrer 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' is at the fourth position on the TRP chart. The show has received 1.8 million viewership impressions.
5. Shiv Shakti – Tenacity Tandav
The audience is very fond of 'Shiv Shakti – Tapa Tyag Tandav'. The show is at number five. The show has received 1.6 million viewership impressions this time. Recently the entry of Lord Shani has been shown in the show. Due to which this show has become even more interesting.
How does BARC check TRP?
Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) estimates the TRP of entire TV channels by taking data from several thousand frequencies. This agency uses a special gadget to measure TRP. Barometers are installed at some places to measure TRP. These barometers use certain frequencies to find out which program or channel is being watched the most and how often.
Through this meter, every minute TV information is sent to the monitoring agency. This team analyzes the information received from the barometer and decides what is the TRP of which channel or program.
A list of the most popular channels is made according to Television Rating Point (TRP) and then the data of top 10 TRP TV serials, TV news channels is made public on weekly or monthly basis.
How important is TRP?
TRP is very important for advertisers because it helps advertisers to easily know on which channel their products or services will get maximum benefit by advertising. Every advertiser likes to advertise on the channel with highest TRP.
