Leading Online Desk : The Supreme Court Registry has handed over sealed envelopes of election bonds to the Election Commission. The Election Commission will publish the information in these envelopes on its website by 5 pm on Sunday. The attention of the country will be on what information will come out of this. These sealed envelopes containing information about the election bonds were submitted by the Election Commission to the Supreme Court on 12 April 2019 and 2 November 2023. But the Election Commission did not keep its copies with itself. Therefore, the Election Commission requested the Supreme Court to return these sealed envelopes. On Friday, the Supreme Court directed the Registry to return the envelopes to the Election Commission. In 2019 and 2023, these envelopes were submitted by the Election Commission to the Supreme Court when hearings were going on in the Supreme Court regarding the Election Bond (Electro Bond). In the hearing which was held on Friday, Chief Justice D. Y. Chandrachud had slammed the State Bank of India for not providing the bond numbers.
