Tirumala : News Agency : Tirumala Tirupati Devasthan, the richest temple in the world, has made an FD of Rs 1,161 crore this year. This is the highest in the last 12 years and it has become the first Hindu shrine to deposit Rs 500 crore or more as FD continuously for the last 12 years. The total FDs of trusts in banks have reached Rs 13,287 crore.
1,600 crore interest!
The balance of the temple has reached to Rs 18 thousand 817 crores with fixed deposits in various banks and cash in trust. This is the largest amount in history. The trust earns nearly Rs 1,600 crore in interest on FDs every year.
Gold 11,329 kg!
One thousand 31 kg gold has been deposited in the temple recently. After this, the gold reserve of the temple in the banks has also increased to 11 thousand 329 kg.
