Threat of terrorist attack on Indo-Pak match; Security will increase in New York









Leaders Online Desk: In the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will be up against arch-rivals Pakistan. The fight will be held on June 9 in New York. There are threats of terrorist attack on this match. A terrorist group linked to ISIS has released a video threatening a 'lone wolf' attack. Therefore, security will be increased in New York before the match.

The Indian team has started training for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup from Thursday. Before the actual World Cup, the Indian team's only warm-up match will be against Bangladesh on June 1. India's first match in this tournament will be against Ireland on June 5. The much awaited match between India and Pakistan will then be played on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. After that, India will play the remaining series matches against the co-hosts USA on June 12 and Canada on June 15. This year the World Cup final will be held on June 29.

'Lone Wolf Attack Threat'

Security concerns are being raised at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York ahead of the much-awaited match between India and Pakistan. Security personnel are bracing for a possible lone wolf attack as the terrorist organization threatens. Measures are being taken to ensure that there is no disruption in the match. Security personnel will be deployed throughout the match. New York Governor Cathy Hochul has ordered to tighten the security system. Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said the terrorist group threatened a 'lone wolf' attack in a video that went viral. He has said that these are members associated with terrorist organizations.

9th June date mentioned in the video

Police Commissioner Ryder said that there were similar threats in April too, those threats were made by 'ISIS-K'. ISIS-K has now issued a threat that did not name the location, but mentioned the date. 9th June is the date and India-Pakistan match is on this day itself. In the video, the 'lone wolf' terrorist organization threatens to attack. The video was posted by ISIS-K on a British chat site.
