The opening of 'Ruslaan' was better than 'Do Aur Do Pyaar': Earned 60 lakhs on the first day, the condition of Bollywood was bad in April.

Salman Khan's brother-in-law Ayush Sharma's third film in his career 'Ruslaan' was released in theaters this Friday. Despite strong promotion, the film collected Rs 60 lakh on the opening day at the box office.

However, it was better than the film 'Do Aur Do Pyaar' released last week. Vidya Balan, Prateek Gandhi and Ileana D'Cruz starrer this film did a business of Rs 55 lakh on the opening day.

Total occupancy was 6.42%
The total occupancy of this film was 6.42% on the first day. The film achieved 7.50% occupancy in 303 shows in Mumbai. Whereas in Delhi-NCR its occupancy was 7% with 357 shows.

Ayush's opposite actress Ms. Shreya Mishra has debuted in 'Ruslaan'.

'Antim' earned Rs 5.03 crore on opening day
Earlier, two films of Ayush released had better collection than 'Ruslaan' on the opening day. Ayush's debut film Loveyatri, released in 2018, had an opening of Rs 2 crore. Whereas 'Antim', released in 2021, did a business of Rs 5.03 crore on the opening day.

Ayush's opposite actress Ms. Shreya Mishra has debuted in the film 'Ruslaan'. Apart from both of them, Telugu star Jagapathi Babu and 'Chak De India' fame actress Vidya Malavade are also seen in this film.

Earlier, big budget films like BMCM and Maidan, released this month, were also flops.

April was dull for Bollywood
According to trade analysts, Bollywood has suffered a loss of approximately Rs 250 crore in April. Films like 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' and 'Maidan', released in the beginning of the month, also flopped badly.

The situation was so bad that to improve the collection of many films released this month, makers and theater owners had to offer free tickets on each one.
