The gates of Kedarnath opened; Chardham Yatra begins









Rudraprayag; News Agency: The holy Chardham Yatra of Hindus began with great enthusiasm on Friday. The gates of Kedarnath Dham were opened at 6.55 am. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also visited thousands of devotees. After Kedarnath, the gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri also opened. However, darshan will start from May 12 in Badrinath temple.

The daytime temperature here is recorded between zero and 3 degrees Celsius, dropping down to minus at night. Around 10 thousand devotees have reached Gaurikunda near Kedarnath Dhamalagat even in this bitter cold. All the 1500 rooms here for devotees are booked. 5,545 mules have been booked. Over 15 thousand people have entered Haridwar and Rishikesh. So far 22.15 lakh devotees have registered for the Chardham Yatra. Last year a record 55 lakh devotees visited.

Limited number of devotees for the first time; Only 15 thousand can visit Kedarnath every day

Last year, a record 5.5 million people arrived and the system was disrupted. Therefore, the daily number of devotees in Chardham Yatra has been limited this year. This year, 51,000 devotees will visit Chardham (departments) every day.
