Amit Sial starrer film Tikdam is streamed on Jio Cinema on 23 August. This film is directed by Vivek Anchaliya. This is his first directorial film.
Amit Sial shared his experiences related to this film with Dainik Bhaskar. He said that the life of migrant labourers has been depicted very beautifully in this film.
Amit Sial also told that he had shot this film in a village near Nainital, where the whole team stayed for 30-40 days.
In this film, Amit has shared most of the screen space with children. On this, he says that working with children during the shooting was not very difficult. However, actors have to act according to the children.
Let's start the conversation with Amit Siyal….
Question: How much does the film Tikdam mean to you?
answer- It is very important to be associated with such a film. Along with drama, the film also talks about issues like global warming. The life of migrant workers has also been shown in a very beautiful angle in the film. Overall, it is a family entertainer film.
In this film, the audience will get to see a new character of mine. I was waiting for the release of this film for a long time because it is a completely different kind of film. I also wanted to play such a character.
Question: Was working in this film a little challenging?
answer- Yes, it has been so to some extent. It is the duty of an artist to portray on screen exactly what is written in the script. I try to act in a way that looks natural on screen, but for that one has to work very hard. This theory applies to every kind of character.
We shot this film in a village near Nainital. We all stayed here for 30-40 days. There was nothing fancy at this place. Everyone lived and ate together. In a way, we also became part of that village. There we encountered a new world and that world was very pleasant. It was a wonderful experience.
Question: How difficult was it to shoot with children in the film?
answer- I have shot many ads with children in the past. When I did my first ad, I realised that we have to act according to the children. Children cannot act according to our wishes. They have their own tantrums.
When the film's director Vivek sent me a small sample of this film, I had already made up my mind to do this film. He had sent the sample in animated form, which made my eyes stop as soon as I saw it. Anyway, I wanted to do something different from the intense look.
When I reached the set on the first day, the director had already put in a lot of effort with the kids. Because of this, I did not have to put in much effort. However, I like children a lot. I like talking, playing and teasing them.
I behave with them like adults and not like children. They also start behaving like adults with me, which looks very cute.
Question- How beautiful was it to shoot in the mountains?
answer- Oh, it was magical. The weather was changing every moment. Sometimes the clouds were coming, sometimes they were going. Although this was making it difficult to shoot. Anyway, we also learned to play with the weather.
Living in a city does not give the feeling of what it is like to live in the mountains. Metropolitan cities are full of glamour. But there is peace in the mountains, which keeps your mind fresh.
Where we were shooting, there is a lack of resources as compared to metropolitan cities. Maybe there is a shortage of money too. But the pain of this does not show on the faces of the residents there. They are happy with whatever they have. They easily mingled with us. They used to bring fruits and vegetables from their farm for us. They also used to feed us their famous dishes.
Question: What process did you have to go through to adapt yourself to such a character?
answer- To tell you the truth, getting the script of the film was the first process. After watching the film you will understand that only a person with a brain would reject it. At that time I wanted this kind of work.
The first process started with the moustache. Keeping the character in mind, I did a lot of research. After this, an image of Hitler was formed in my mind. But I did not want to have a moustache exactly like Hitler. That is why I reformed it a little myself.
The director also gave his okay after seeing me in this look. After this, the director said that I should keep a smile on my face in every scene of this film. After a few days, he told me to behave like this in real life too, which I found a bit childish. Then the director explained to me that the people of the place where we were shooting live like this. They say their sad things very politely and without any wrinkles on their faces.
Question: Do you realise on the first day of shooting how the journey of the film will be further?
answer- Yes, one gets a little bit of a feeling. A lot of things have changed since before. Now there are many discussions on a script, which helps you understand whether the film will work or not.
