New Delhi; Leading News Service: The Central Election Commission on Saturday (May 25) announced the polling statistics for the first five phases of the Lok Sabha elections. How many total voters are there in each of the first five constituencies in the country?, How many of them voted?, What is the voting percentage? In this form, the commission announced the statistics.
Voting for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections was held on Saturday. According to the data released by the Election Commission on the same day, 65.98 percent voting took place in the first five phases across the country. While in Maharashtra, 61.46 percent voting was done.
The Election Commission should publish booth-wise polling percentage on the website. This percentage should be made available within 48 hours without delay while publishing. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court for this demand. The Supreme Court while passing judgment on it, cannot give any direction to the Commission in this regard. The petition was adjourned. Therefore, the topic of voting percentage was a hot topic in the country. After that now the commission has announced this data. But, in this, the commission announced the Lok Sabha constituency wise data without announcing the booth wise data.
