After almost two and a half months, 'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' fame actor Gurcharan Singh has returned to Mumbai. According to the actor, Mumbai is his karmabhoomi. Gurcharan's friend Bhakti Soni came to pick him up at Mumbai airport.

Gurcharan Singh spoke to Dainik Bhaskar at Mumbai airport. According to Gurcharan, he has returned to his karmabhoomi only because of his fans. The actor said, 'First of all, I want to thank my friend Bhakti, producer J.D. Majethia and my fans from the bottom of my heart. It is because of their love that I have returned to Mumbai today. Also, Delhi Police also supported me a lot. Mumbai is my karmabhoomi. I will return to work again. I will never leave Mumbai.
He further said, 'God blessed me and everyone's blessings were also there. My family members have done a lot for me. This is the reason that wherever I was, their love pulled me back from there. By the way, I do not want to talk about where I was at that time, why I did this, right now. I will talk about this after some time. Right now is not the right time. Right now I just want to go home.'

Gurucharan played the character of Sodhi in 'Tarak Mehta…'. According to the actor, it is very important to bring some changes in the show. About this, he says, 'The team of Tarak is like a family. However, Gurucharan did not come to Mumbai. After which the actor's family filed a missing complaint in Delhi's Palam police station. After three weeks (17 May) he returned home.
According to Delhi Police, during interrogation, Gurcharan Singh told that he had left the worldly life and had gone on a spiritual journey. He said that in these three weeks, he visited Gurudwaras in many cities including Amritsar, Ludhiana. Later, he realized that he should return home, so he returned.
