Tajinder Singh Bittu Leaving Congress for 35 years, Priyanka Gandhi's close associate Tajinder Singh Bittu joins BJP

Leaders Online: Congress has suffered a big blow during the Lok Sabha elections. All India Congress Committee (AICC) Himachal Pradesh in-charge secretary and Priyanka Gandhi's close associate Tajinder Singh Bittu joined the BJP on Saturday. Tajinder Singh Bittu had earlier resigned from the post of Himachal Pradesh in-charge secretary of AICC and primary membership of the Congress party. Tajinder Singh Bittu entered the party at the BJP headquarters in Delhi on Saturday in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and party general secretary Vinod Tawde.

Bittu stayed away from politics for almost 12 years. He started working for Congress in 2017. Bittu is believed to have a strong hold on Punjab politics and vote bank. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, many Congress leaders had taken the lotus in their hand, praising their party. Now, the departure of Bittu from the party has given a big shock to the Congress.

A day earlier, Congress national Mallikarjun Kharge had resigned from the party. “I hereby resign from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress and from the post of joint in-charge secretary of AICC, Himachal Pradesh,” he said in the letter.

“It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning from the Congress party after 35 years.” Bittu shared the resignation letter through a Facebook post with the caption.
