Anil Kapoor and Tabu starrer film Virasat was released in 1997. Its story was written by Kamal Haasan. Bharathan directed this film. Virasat also featured Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Pooja Batra and Milind Gunaji in lead roles. In a recent interview, Tabu narrated a funny anecdote from the days of Virasat about how Priyadarshan prepared her for the role of Gehna Thakur.
Poured a bottle of oil on my head
Priyadarshan wanted my hair to be oily and look like a village woman. So, the hairstylist asked me to apply some gel so that my hair would look oily. When I went to the set, he said, 'I asked you to apply oil.' I said, 'Yes, I applied a little. See, my hair is shining,' so he didn't say anything and then came back with a bottle of coconut oil and poured all the oil on my head. Priyadarshan said, 'This is what applying oil to hair means.'
During an interview with Zoom, Tabu said- Then it became even easier for me to get ready. I did not have to do any hairstyle. I used to get ready in five minutes. Long hair, apply oil, braid them and go to the set.
Tabu's work front
Tabu is all set to return to the big screen for the second time this year. Earlier this year, she was seen in the film Crew. This time she will be seen in the romantic thriller Aur Mein Kahaan Dum Tha, which is directed by Neeraj Pandey and stars Ajay Devgan in the lead role. The film is scheduled to release on July 5.
