Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar remains in the headlines due to her outspokenness. She does not hesitate to give her opinion on any controversial issue. Recently, she revealed in an interview that because of this she is not getting work in films. Filmmakers and people from the industry sideline her.
Swara said- 'If I had not said it, I would have choked to death'
Swara said, 'I don't want to say all this like a victim. I have chosen this path for myself. I had decided that I will give my opinion on every issue. If I wanted, I could have chosen the path of silence. I did not need to write any open letter nor was there any need to register an objection on the Jauhar scene of the film 'Padmaavat'. You can make many complaints against me. You can dislike me. I think that even those who hate me cannot say that I am a liar or fake. My opinion does not change even in front of different people. I am the same in front of everyone. If I had not said all this, I would have died of suffocation.'
Swara Bhaskar has appeared in films like 'Tanu Weds Manu', 'Raanjhanaa' and 'Veere Di Wedding'.
I had to pay the price for being outspoken: Swara
Swara further said, 'I had to pay the price for my outspokenness. Before the birth of my daughter Rabia, acting was my biggest passion and love. I loved acting. I wanted to do many roles and acting assignments but I did not get as many opportunities as I wanted. I was given the tag of a controversial actress. Directors, producers and distributors started saying wrong things about me. An image of you is created. It does not matter to me because I have learned to live with it but one thing makes me very sad and that is that because of this I am not getting to act.'
The husband said, 'Now shut up and act'
Sharing an anecdote related to her husband Fahad Ahmed, Swara said, 'Fahad also went to the screening of my last film 'Jahan Chaar Yaar'. That film did not do very well but I had worked very hard. After the screening, Fahad came to me and said, 'I have to admit that you have really made a huge sacrifice. You are such a good actress. You should have worked more. Now you should shut up and do more films.'
