Leaders Online Desk: Swami Samranand Maharaj, president of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, passed away at the age of 95 on Tuesday. He was in the hospital since January 29 due to illness.
After the demise of Swami Atmasthananda, Swami Samranand Maharaj took over as the 16th President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission. On January 29, he was admitted to the hospital due to urinary tract infection. He developed septicemia and was put on ventilator on March 3. Doctors said he was also suffering from kidney problems.
During his recent visit to West Bengal, Prime Minister Modi visited Swami Samranand Maharaj at the hospital. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited him at the hospital.
