Sushmita Sen made her Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt's film Dastak. The story of this film was written by Vikram Bhatt. Sushmita and Vikram came into relationship during the shooting of the film. However, at that time Vikram was already married and also had a daughter.

Regarding the affair with Vikram, Sushmita had said that earlier she did not like Vikram. However, with time both started talking and became friends. The actress had also said that if a person's marriage does not go well then she cannot make that person feel guilty. She was not bothered by the fact that she was dating a married man.

I felt that he had some personal feelings against me because he used to complain about me to Mahesh Bhatt. However, after some time we started talking and became friends. After a long time our affair ended. It was a slow chemistry.

Vikram also gave his opinion on the affair with Sushmita. He had said that he was married before the chemistry with Sushmita started.

On this Sushmita had to say – His wife and he were not living together. If someone's marriage is not going well then I cannot condemn him. Can't make him feel guilty. I had no complaints against his wife and daughter. Some things are not meant to happen. When I met him he was divorced.

Mahesh Bhatt had approved Sushmita-Vikram's relationship

Mahesh Bhatt had said in an interview about the affair of Sushmita and Vikram – Vikram's relationship with Sushmita started during the making of the film Dastak. Vikram was my right hand man. He was at the forefront in doing most of my work. Because of this, he used to talk more with Sushmita.
