Suryakumar Yadav : When will the eclipse of Mumbai Indians' 'Sun' end? | leader

Leaders Online Desk: Good news is coming for Mumbai Indians who have been disappointing so far in IPL 2024. The team's experienced middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav may make a comeback to the team soon. MI are scheduled to play their next match against Delhi Capitals on April 7. There is a possibility that Surya will enter the field in this match.

Actually Suryakumar Yadav is away from cricket from December 2023 due to injury. He could not even play the first three matches of this year's IPL. Mumbai Indians lost all the three matches played under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. Surya was missing in these matches. But now the NCA has declared Surya fit and there are reports that he will soon join the Mumbai squad.

According to a Cricbuzz report, Suryakumar Yadav will join Mumbai Indians on Friday (April 5) and take part in a practice session. The team management will decide whether he will play on April 7 based on the net session and fitness.

Suryakumar Yadav, who topped the World T20, last played competitive cricket in December 2023. He scored a century in that third match against South Africa. But unfortunately Surya injured his ankle in that series. It required surgery. It was later revealed that he was suffering from a sports hernia. As a result, his return to the field has been delayed. He has now been declared fit after a long period of fitness work at the NCA in Bangalore.

Who will be affected by the return of the sun?

If Suryakumar Yadav returns to the team, some Indian players will have to sit out. Naman Dhir's name is leading in this. Naman has done well in Surya's absence, but he will have to sit out to make room for the senior player. Surya's arrival will also improve MI's team balance. He will bat at number four, while Tilak Verma will get a chance at number-3.
