New Delhi, Leading News Service: Aam Aadmi Party got relief from the Supreme Court today (10th) in the case of vacating the party office. The court has extended till August 10 to vacate its Rouse Avenue office. The present office was asked to be vacated by June 15. Therefore, you had filed a petition demanding extension of this deadline. While deciding this petition, the Karta has passed this order.
The bench clarified that this extension is given as a last chance and it will be subject to the time given by the party. The undertaking given to the registry of the court stated that possession of the office would be handed over on or before August 10, 2024. The bench said in the order that the seat should be vacated by August 10, after which the deadline will not be extended. Actually, the land of 'AAP' office has been given to the Delhi High Court. Now this place will be used by the court.
The Supreme Court in its March order had said that in view of the upcoming general elections to the Lok Sabha, extension is being given till June 15 to vacate the office on the plot given for the purpose of expansion of the Delhi High Court. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi argued that the party has national status. But, compared to other national parties, we have been given less seats.
