Superstar Mammootty has given his opinion on the Hema Committee report and said that there is no power group in Malayalam cinema. Justice Hema Committee was formed by the government to study the film industry and prepare a report on the solutions to the problems.

Mammootty shared a post on Facebook and wrote, 'This post is based on the current events that Malayalam cinema is facing. Cinema is a symbol of society. All the good and bad things of society are shown in films.

The film industry is something that society pays full attention to. That is why every small and big thing that happens there will be discussed. To prevent such incidents, film makers need to be careful and cautious so that nothing wrong happens in this field.

Actually, there have been allegations of sexual exploitation of female artists in the Malayalam film industry for the last several years. To investigate this, a 3-member committee was formed in 2019 under the chairmanship of retired Justice Hema. After 4 years, on August 19, the Hema Committee submitted a 233-page report to the Kerala government, in which it came to light that many big artists had exploited them.

He also told the reason for remaining silent on Hema Committee report till now
Mammootty also explained why he did not express his opinion on the issue for so long despite being a part of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). He said that he was waiting for the association to express its opinion first.
