Mallikarjun Kharge
New Delhi, Leading News Service: 62 percent military schools in the country belong to BJP and Res. self Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu demanding that the privatization of military schools be stopped.
According to information obtained under the Right to Information Act, there are currently a total of 33 military schools in the country. These schools are under the Ministry of Defence. The central government has signed an MoU to privatize these schools in 2021. Accordingly, out of 100 military schools to be opened, 40 schools will be run on PPP basis.
The central government will provide 50 percent annual fee concession on the basis of merit to students from classes VI to XII in these schools. 62 percent of the schools where the MoU is between BJP and National Self. of persons belonging to the Sangh.
In his letter to the President, Mallikarjun Kharge has made a serious allegation that the family of a Chief Minister, many MLAs, BJP officials and RSS leaders are involved.
Military schools play an important role in getting admission in National Defense Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy. Kharge has also demanded immediate cancellation of the policy of privatization of military schools and the MoU in this regard.
