Stock Market Special trading session | Today special trading on BSE and NSE, know time











Leaders Online Desk: Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have held special trading sessions on Saturday (May 18). The primary site (PR) is being switched to the disaster recovery (DR) site in today's special trading session. Focusing on the Equity and Equity Derivatives segments, the session aims to assess exchanges' disaster preparedness in the event of a major disruption during trading. Earlier, a special trading session was held on March 2, 2024.

Normally stock market trading is closed on Saturdays. But BSE and NSE have canceled the Saturday holiday for stock market trading. This special live trading session is organized to test preparedness to handle unexpected disasters. Today's special session will be split into two sessions where short-term trading is taking place in the equity and equity derivative segments.

Special trading session time

The primary session for the cash market began with the morning block deal window between 8:45 am and 9 am. Special trading session includes pre-open session on NSE and BSE from 9 am to 9.08 am and normal trading from 9:15 am to 10 am. After that there will be a break till 11:15.

Second session

While the pre-opening session at the disaster recovery site will be held from 11:15 am to 11:23 am. Thereafter, normal trading will resume at 11:30 AM and close at 12:30 PM. Post-close order closing and modifications will be permitted till 1 pm.

Stock market closed on May 20

Meanwhile, voting in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections will be held in Mumbai on May 20. On this day both BSE and NSE will be closed on Monday 20 May.
