Stock Market Closing Bell | Sensex closes at 75 thousand for the first time; New high of 'Nifty' too, investors earned 2 lakh crore | leader


Leaders Online: Heavy buying was seen in the Indian stock market on Wednesday (Dec. 10). In particular, the benchmark index Nifty hit a new record high of 22,775 today, led by gains in banking, energy and IT stocks. The Nifty then rose 111 points to settle at 22,753. While the Sensex rose by 354 points to close at 75,038. (Stock Market Closing Bell) Bank, Oil & Gas and FMCG stocks witnessed more bullishness today. Auto shares fell.

Especially in the metal sector there was more buying. Meanwhile, excluding pharma, media, PSU banks, FMCG, oil and gas rose by 1-2 percent. All other sectoral indices also closed in the green. The BSE Midcap gained 0.8 percent and the Smallcap index gained 0.4 percent.

2.26 lakh crores earned by investors

Market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased by Rs 2.26 lakh crore to reach Rs 402.18 lakh crore due to today's rally in the market. On Tuesday, the market capitalization was Rs 399.92 lakh crore. This means that the investors got a profit of 2.26 lakh crores today.

Which stocks are bullish?

The BSE Sensex traded at a high of 75 thousand today. ITC, Kotak Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Asian Paints, Reliance, Tech Mahindra, Nestle India remained the top gainers on Sensex today. Maruti, LT, HDFC Bank, M&M shares fell.

Nifty touched a new high of 22,775 today. Shares of Coal India, BPCL, Hindalco, Kotak Bank, ITC rose the most on Nifty. While shares of HDFC Life, Divis Lab, Cipla, Maruti, Shriram Finance fell by 1 to 2 percent. (Stock Market Closing Bell)

Bank Nifty at 49 thousand for the first time

Nifty PSU Bank was the day's best performer led by State Bank of India. The Bank Nifty touched a high of 49,000 for the first time on the back of gains in the shares of private banks like IDFC First Bank, PNB, Federal Bank, Kotak Bank and Bank of Baroda. After that Bank Nifty rose 256 points to close at 48,986.
