In the third and final match, Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first and scored 235 all out in 50 overs, while in reply Bangladesh scored 237 for 6 in 40.2 overs. Chasing 236 for victory, opener Tanzid Hasan laid a solid foundation for the win with 84 off 81 balls, including 9 fours and 4 sixes, and Bangladesh did not look back after that. Middle and lower order Rishad Hossain struck a blistering unbeaten 48 off just 18 balls while wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 37 off 36 balls. The pair completed the task of victory in just 40.2 overs.
Earlier, Janith Liange scored an unbeaten century for Lanka after electing to bat first. He contributed 101 runs off 102 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. He also remained unbeaten on the same score. However, as other batsmen kept getting dismissed at regular intervals, Lanka had to stay far away from scoring big. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets for 42 runs while Mustafizur Rahman and Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 2 wickets each.
