Sonakshi Sinha is in the news these days for her film 'Kakuda'. Ritesh Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem have also appeared in lead roles with her in this film. This film has been streamed on the OTT platform Zee5 today i.e. 12 July.
Sonakshi had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar on the release of the film.
Let's begin the conversation with Sonakshi Sinha…
Question- How did you get associated with this film?
answer- The director of the film Aditya Sarpodar brought the story to me. I really liked the story of this film. Its concept is also a little different. This is the first horror comedy film of my career. I have never done a film of this genre. This was very exciting for me. When Aditya told me about my character, I immediately agreed to work in the film.
Q. Tell us something about your character?
answer- The name of my character in the film is Indira. She is a newly wed bride who has married Sunny. In the film, she is smarter than Sunny. She is also very protective about Sunny.
She does not believe in any superstition. She does not even believe in ghosts but Sunny does. She always tells Sunny not to believe in it, nothing like that will happen. In the film, she fights for her rights and her husband. In this way, this is a fun character for me. It was a very fun experience to play it.
Question- Did you do any special preparation for your character?
answer- No, it was very simple for me. We just had some reading sessions with the director. Apart from this, we also worked on our language because a village language has been used in this film.
Indira lives in a village but is a little modern. Her thinking is also modern. She wears modern clothes. Otherwise, we didn't have to do much different work for acting. We all worked for the film in a fun way and it was made.
Question: Where was the film shot and for how many days?
answer- Most of the shooting of this film was done in Gujarat. Apart from this, some part of the film was also shot in Mumbai. Some sets were made in Mumbai. We and the rest of the crew members also went to Bhuj for its shooting. The shooting of the film lasted for 40 to 42 days. I don't remember properly but it took almost that many days. Apart from this, a lot of shooting was done at night because there are dark scenes in the film.
Question- How was your experience during the shooting of this film?
answer- I really enjoyed working in this film. I think I developed a good bonding with Saqib and Ritesh Deshmukh because of working together. We all had a lot of fun while shooting for this film. We even scared each other. Everyone used to eat together on the set.
The actors and crew of the film have spent a lot of time together. They have also shared many stories among themselves. Everyone has worked together like a family. In this way the shooting of the film was also completed.
Question: Do you think that more women-centric films should be made now?
answer- Women-centric films have been coming for many years. Talking about myself, I have been doing a lot of films in the last 8 years which have female protagonists. As an actor, playing the lead role in a film is very satisfying. My focus is on such characters which portray women in a good light and I think this is a very good thing.
A lot of such films are being made these days. I think we should stop calling those films women-centric.
Question- Is there any biopic on which you want to work?
answer- There are many such stories that should reach people. There are underdog stories, there are many people about whom we have not read much and people should know about them. The stories of all these are quite inspirational.
If I get a chance in the future, I would definitely like to do a biopic. I think that I can do justice to that character with his personality. I will now be waiting for the biopic.
