How Sonakshi was cast for Dabangg?

While talking on Kareena Kapoor's podcast What Women Want Season 5, Sonakshi said- 'Dabangg is enough. Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan noticed me at Amrita Arora's wedding. By that time I had lost all my weight. Arbaaz told me that he was writing something and he said that I would be perfect for that role. Then I thought that he was joking. But then one day he came to my house to narrate the script. My entire family sat and listened to the script. After narrating the script, Arbaaz and my family nodded, shook hands and he got up and left.

The actress said- After that I saw that I was on the sets of Dabangg. It seemed as if someone was having an arranged marriage. But once I reached the set, I realized that this is what I want to do, and I have been doing it ever since.

I always took my time, but I did not think anything about getting into a relationship with Zaheer.
