Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Power Scheme has been launched to get up to 300 units of free electricity by installing roof top solar system on the roof of the house. Under this scheme, subsidy up to 78 thousand rupees is available. Mahavitaran has appealed to the electricity consumers to take advantage of this scheme.

For roof top solar system, the electricity consumer gets a direct subsidy of Rs.30 thousand for one kilowatt, sixty thousand rupees for two kilowatts and Rs.78 thousand for three kilowatts from the central government. The maximum total subsidy per customer has been fixed at Rs.

Mahavitraan helps electricity consumers to install roof top solar systems. Customers need to register online on the portal. A mobile app called PM Suryaghar is also available for this. This scheme has been started for one crore houses across the country.
Electricity bill will be zero
This is a plan to generate electricity using solar energy and use that electricity at home to meet the electricity requirement. In this, due to the generation of more electricity than the requirement, the electricity bill comes to zero, i.e. the electricity is provided free of cost and the excess electricity is sold to Mahadistrivan and income is also generated.
Generation of 120 units of electricity per month
A roof top solar system of one kilowatt capacity generates about four units of electricity per day or about 120 units per month. A roof top solar system with a capacity of up to two kilowatts is sufficient for a family consuming up to 150 units of electricity per month. A system of two to three kilowatt capacity is sufficient for a family with a consumption of 150 to 300 units of electricity per month.
