Leader Online Desk: Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Sikkim. Massive and destructive landslides have occurred at various places in Mangan and North Sikkim. In this, one person has died and five people have gone missing (Sikkim landslide). The news in this regard has been seen by ANI.
Due to heavy rains in Sikkim, river Sta is overflowing near Teesta Bazar in Kalimpong district. Due to this, many houses on the side have gone under water. Landslides have destroyed a large number of houses in Upper Gyathang and Targ villages in Sikkim. Officials also said that an important road connecting the district headquarters in Mangan was also closed after the landslide (Sikkim landslide).
One person was found dead in Pakshep area of Mangan, while three people are missing from Ambithang near Rangrang and two from Pakshep. The situation has worsened (Sikkim landslide) as the Teesta river is overflowing at the Melli Stadium in South Sikkim, administrative sources have informed.
