The Sikh community claims that Kangana's film Emergency portrays Sikhs in a wrong manner.
On Sunday, the Sikh community protested outside the Gurudwara located at 4 Bungalow in Mumbai against Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film Emergency. The Sikh community alleges that historical facts have been distorted in the film. The Sikh community has demanded that the film be completely banned and strict action should be taken against Kangana.
Jaspal Singh Suri, who led the protestors, said, 'Kangana should go everywhere and apologize. She has called the Khalsa sect terrorists. She has called the farmers who were on hunger strike for their rights terrorists. If she does not do this, then her coming days will be very bad. The consequences will be very bad.
She has made this film to incite fighting between Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs. If this film is released, there will be riots and massacres everywhere. This is an act of getting beaten up and she (Kangana) will get beaten up.'
Elderly people, women and children also participated in the protest against the film.
People of the Sikh community claim that they will not allow the film to be released in Mumbai
Thousands of Sikhs gathered outside 4 Bangla Gurudwara and protested against the film. They threw chappals on Kangana Ranaut's posters and expressed their anger against the film. People of the Sikh community say that they will not allow this film to be released in Mumbai's theatres under any circumstances.
They claim that if the administration does not pay heed to their demands, they will launch a massive agitation against it.
The film is accused of tarnishing the image of the Sikh community
The protesters say that some sensitive issues related to the history of Sikhs have been shown incorrectly in the film Emergency. This has tarnished the image of Sikhism and the community. They will not compromise on the dignity of their religion and history and will take strict action against any kind of wrong statements.
Kangana herself has directed and produced the film Emergency. She has played the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.
Release of film Emergency banned
The film Emergency was earlier scheduled to release on September 6, but now its release has been stopped. Kangana shared a video on her X handle and said, 'The release of the film Emergency has been stopped. The CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) had cleared the film, but later put a stop on the certification.
This has happened because there are too many death threats. The censor board is also getting threats. There is pressure on us not to show Indira Gandhi's assassination, not to show Bhindranwale, not to show the Punjab riots. I don't know what to show next.
I don't know what happened that the film was suddenly blacked out. This cannot be trusted. I feel very bad seeing the situation in the country.
