Shreyas Iyer : Shreyas Iyer fit for IPL! But the doctor gave a 'warning' leader









Leaders Online Desk: Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the second innings of the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha due to back pain. In such a situation, there were reports that he would not be able to play the first few matches of IPL 2024. But Shreyas revealed that he is fit to join Kolkata Knight Riders' camp on Saturday. He also participated in an intra-squad T20 match on Sunday. However, the KKR captain is understood to have been given a big warning.

According to sources, the KKR skipper underwent treatment by visiting a spine specialist in Mumbai and then at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore. The doctor then declared him fit to play. However, he has been advised to be careful about his footwork while defending the ball.

Shreyas Iyer has always been in the news due to his back pain. Due to this injury, he could not play the semi-final match of the Ranji Trophy. Also he could not field in the second innings of the final match against Vidarbha. But NCA declared Iyer fit. Due to this, the working style of NCA was also questioned. Iyer first complained of back pain during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia last year. After this he had to undergo surgery. Due to this he could not play IPL 2023. He played in the Asia Cup 2023 and then scored 530 runs in the World Cup. However, he was injured again in the India vs England Test series.
